Hemi Products Aluminum XL Engine Blocks offer an improved, heavy duty, versatile, highly reliable engine design for street, strip, off-road, and marine applications with the following specifications:

  • 426 to 600+ cubic inch with internal oil pickup
  • Original standard bolt patterns on bolt-on parts (Oil Pan, heads, intake, exhaust, water pump, bell housing etc)
  • Stock Bore 4.250
  • Maximum bore 4.500
  • Stock stroke 3.750
  • Maximum stroke 4.750
  • Standard deck 10.725
  • Priority oil system with internal oil pickup up to 4.750 crank shaft
  • Standard cam height
  • Raised cam +.250
  • Finished Block machined weight under 125 pounds (including steel billet main caps, ARP studs and steel cylinder sleeves)

New design provides:

  • Improved internal structural strength and durability that equalizes stress loads and reduces block twist
  • Improved oiling system moves oil back into the oil pan much faster and prevents oil accumulating in the top end of the engine (Helps prevent oil starvation, rapidly returning oil in the pan area where its can do the most good)
  • Improved water circulation and cooling to move the heat out of the engine faster and reduce heat loads
  • Pre-clearance for large stroke crank shaft up to 4.750 without external oil system. No additional machining required
  • Extreme duty virgin aluminum formula
  • Premium castings. Special heat treating and stress relief process

This design minimizes modifications or additional machine work normally required during performance engine assembly.

This high-performance block design incorporates many improvements over early 426 engines. This highly versatile design increases performance, oiling, cooling, and structural reliability. Because of the quick throttle response, light weight-to-horse power and high torque ratio at relatively low RPM, these engines offer service to many different applications:

  • Original equipment replacement
  • High Performance competition
  • off-road
  • Marine
  • Tractor pulls
  • Air boats or propeller-driven vehicles
  • Extreme or heavy duty industrial applications

Most changes to the original engine design are internal so you can't see them when the engine is fully assembled. We have incorporated engineering and modifications from many well known engine builders who learned thier skills the hard way through trial and error testing at the tracks and on the streets in every configuration imaginable over the last 40 years.

These changes have been integrated into the block design and greatly improve the strength, performance and reliability of the engine and minimise the need to modify the block during assembly.

Our High Performance Engine block uses a proven aluminum formula that is filtered at high temperature and then cast, heat treated, and stress relieved to provide the maximum strength and correct density for maximum material strength and durability only seen in high quality castings.

Precision performance machining improves strength, relieves stress and provides maximum clearance.

This new engine block offers exceptional water transfer through the block and around the cylinders to provide the best cooling and heat transfer possible to remove heat from the block quickly and efficiently.

Oiling is achieved with a priority oiling distribution system. Special attention to oil return design has been incorporated into the block design to resolve the age old issue of oil accumulating in the heads, depleting crankshaft oil and causing oil starvation in the crank area.
